Our Story: Daffan Cooling & Heating Since 1999

When the Daffan Family originally started Daffan Cooling & Heating in 1999 David saw his future. David began working in HVAC at the ripe old age of 18. He quickly worked his way to a highly skilled Master Technician.

Naturally, when his uncle retired in 2011, he sold the business to David and his business partner, Tom. With much thought, reflection and prayer, they reinvented the core values and culture of the company to represent the future they had envisioned. Basing their decisions on Christian values, the success of Daffan skyrocketed, and they soon became known for exceptional service and care of their customers.

In 2019, we decided that Daffan Mechanical and our familiar red & blue logo no longer matched the heart and intent of who our company had become. We took a year to find a look with the right feel. We are now “Daffan Cooling & Heating” with warm, traditional colors reflective of our values. And of course, it includes our beloved mascot, Doc.

Growing up in Glen Rose, David’s initial aspirations were to work as a Police Officer. Daffan Cooling & Heating opened its doors in 1999, and at the age of 18, David helped his family build the business from the ground up. After attending Mary Hardin Baylor for a time, he decided to focus on HVAC. He switched gears and studied HVAC and Refrigeration Maintenance Technology at nearby Hill College located in Cleburne.12 years later, after his uncle retired, he became Vice President and co-owner of Daffan Cooling & Heating. Then in 2021 after his business partner retired, he became the sole proprietor of the company bearing his family name.

We have always maintained the goal of conducting business with honesty and integrity. Who better to embody trust and loyalty than man’s best friend, a dog. Specifically, our Golden Retriever. We have had 2 previous mascots since 2014 retire from public life, Daisy & Duke, to live out the rest of their years chasing squirrels & other adventures. In 2022, we introduced our current “COC”, Chief Officer of Cuteness ~ Doc!
What does Doc do when he’s not at Daffan? Doc lives with David and his family on their farm. He stays busy trying to catch ducks, getting to know cows, and bugging his older sister, Sadie (that’s what little brothers are for right?) Visitors to Daffan are often greeted with a smile and a hello from Doc.
